Synopsis:

John Wayne plays Quirt Evans, an evil gunman who is seriously injured but who, nevertheless, manages to reach a small town with great difficulty, where he is assisted and helped by a family living there. The care and attention of the beloved family and, especially of the young and beautiful daughter Penelope (Gail Russell), with whom he will end up falling in love, cause a tremendous change in the way of thinking and acting of the gunman. However, Laredo Stevens (played by Bruce Cabot), Quirt's mortal enemy, continues in his footsteps, making a confrontation between the two inevitable.
